Step 1: Get the via_raid_v530c.zip file and install it. Download here: http://axiom-mods.com/drivers/via_raid_v530c.zip

• Uninstall the pcmcia card from device manager.
• download the driver from here: http://alter.org.ua/en/soft/win/uni_ata/ I found that Busmaster_0.39d works well.
• Go into Device Manager and check the properties of the driver associated with the SATA card (if it's a standard VIA driver, it's going to be %WINDIR%\System32\Drivers\viamraid.sys - Vista users should double-check as when Vista installs it, it's using a differently named VIA driver).
• And rename the uniata.sys to viamraid.sys.
• Make the orignal viamraid.sys a different filename. Ie. viamraid_old.sys.
• also do this for any install directory where you have old setup files for the via_raid installer package. You may have installed it to your %WINDIR%\System32\Drivers\Drv_stor\
• You might have to go to WINDIR\System32\INF\ as well and replace the instances of viamraid.inf as well
• You will need to go installer package of the via_raid_530c setup files and replaces any instances of viamraid.sys with the uniata.sys. ie, /Drvdisk/x86/Xp/ or /Drvdisk/x86/NT4/. You get the picture.
• Then you will uninstall the pcmcia card in the device manager.
• Reboot
• Then you should be prompted to install a driver for new device detected, and do this: Quote post 1, "I then ran the setup again pointing to the via driver setup folder with the "fake" viavmraid.sys".
• Then you should reboot again.
